By CeeLo Green
CeeLo (who seems to be moving toward single-name status) is a funny guy with a colorful story to share… [EVERYBODY’S BROTHER is] an ‘only in America’ story with Horatio Alger as a rapper and neo-soul singer.”
“Brassy, often snarky, and totally madcap, Cee Lo mouths off in this ribald tell-all, to the enjoyment of his fans and newbies everywhere.”
CeeLo Green dresses as Liberace, performs with the Muppets, and does 360-degree flips with a grand piano at his fingertips. He's a coach on the #1-rated network reality show, The Voice, and is a genre-breaking artist who has garnered millions of fans over his music career releasing albums as Goodie Mob, Gnarls Barkley and of course as CeeLo Green himself. He has largely remained a man of Mystery…until now.
CeeLo Green has penned his first memoir, or as he refers to it, a “psychedelic fable,” entitled EVERYBODY’S BROTHER: My Story by CeeLo Green with Big Gipp and David Wild [Grand Central Publishing | $28.00 | Hardcover], which is being released on September 10th, 2013. In the memoir, the Grammy Award winner finally reveals his remarkable personal story including tales from his childhood, his search to find his voice and how he maintained his individuality while rising to the top. At times gritty, yet always truthful, EVERYBODY’S BROTHER illustrates how CeeLo Green created the artist who he is today, despite circumstances beyond his control. Threaded through with hope, inspiration, and real advice, along with anecdotes and revealing insights from CeeLo's childhood friend, Goodie Mob band-member and "brother from another mother" Big Gipp, EVERYBODY’S BROTHER shows how CeeLo found the power in his own voice, and defied the odds time and time again. Filled with exclusive pictures from CeeLo’s childhood, plus images documenting each stage in his life and career, this new memoir truly tells the real story of CeeLo Green from day one to today. Both in his tone and in his look, EVERYBODY'S BROTHER is a theatrical and inspiring artistic statement that perfectly captures its memorable, maverick author.
As CeeLo writes in the book’s introduction:
“I write this book not just to celebrate my own voice and to revel in my own success story, but to help encourage the next generation of underdogs to listen closely to the voices in their own heads, so that maybe someday they can rise up and share their own voices with the world too.”
